Privacy Policy
The short version: your salary figures stay in your browser, and this site collects almost nothing.
Last updated: 28 July 2026.
Your calculator inputs never leave your browser
The numbers you type into any calculator on this site are processed on your own device, in your browser. No salary, income or loan figure is transmitted to this site's servers, stored, or logged. The tax tables are prepared in advance as static pages, so viewing them sends nothing either. Close the tab and the figures are gone.
What this site does not have
- No accounts and no logins, so no passwords or profiles.
- No contact forms, no newsletters and no lead generation, so no marketing lists.
- No advertising, so no ad networks receiving data about you.
- No tracking cookies set by this site.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the hosting infrastructure that serves these pages keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser user agent, the pages requested and timestamps. These logs exist for security and to keep the site running. They are looked at in aggregate, if at all, and are not used to identify individual visitors.
If aggregate page-view analytics are enabled at any point, they count visits to pages. They would not capture calculator inputs and would not be used to identify you.
Email you send us
If you email info@paygcalculator.au, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. That information is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not added to any list, not shared and not sold. Please do not include your tax file number, myGov details or other sensitive information in an email; nothing on this site ever requires them.
How long anything is kept
Email correspondence is kept only as long as it takes to deal with the question, plus a short period in case of follow-up. Server logs are rotated on the hosting provider's standard schedule. There is no database of visitors, because nothing about visitors is collected in the first place.
Australian Privacy Principles
Any personal information this site does handle, which in practice means voluntary email correspondence, is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth): collect the minimum, use it only for the purpose it was given, keep it no longer than needed, and never sell it.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to external sites such as the ATO and Moneysmart. Once you follow one of those links, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site works changes, for example if analytics or advertising were ever introduced, this policy will be updated first and the date at the top revised. The commitment that calculator inputs stay in your browser is a design decision, not a temporary state.
Privacy questions and complaints
Email info@paygcalculator.au or write to Suite 8, 45 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
