What this site is, what it is not, and why you should verify any figure before acting on it.
General information only
Everything on PAYG Calculator Australia, including every calculator result, table, guide and FAQ, is general information. None of it is tax advice, financial advice or legal advice, and none of it takes your personal circumstances into account.
Not the ATO
This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or in any way connected to the Australian Taxation Office or the Australian Government. The ATO's own tools and official withholding schedules are at ato.gov.au, and where the two differ, the ATO's figures are the ones that count.
Calculations are estimates
The figures here are produced by a calculation engine that applies the 2026-27 rates the ATO has published. They are estimates. They do not account for your deductions, most offsets, fringe benefits, multiple income sources, part-year residency or anything else specific to your return, and per-pay figures can differ from your payslip by a few dollars because of how the ATO's official schedules round each pay event. The methodology page explains exactly how each figure is computed and lists the known limitations.
Tax decisions involve real money
Decisions about withholding, instalments and study loan repayments affect what lands in your bank account and what you owe at assessment. Do not change your withholding, vary an instalment or make a financial commitment on the strength of an estimate from this site alone. Confirm the figure with the ATO or with a registered tax agent who can look at your actual situation. You can check an agent's registration on the Tax Practitioners Board register.
Errors and corrections
If a figure on this site looks wrong, it might be. Report it to info@paygcalculator.au with the inputs you used, and it will be checked against the ATO source.
